Facilities
Outstanding research facilities provide faculty, students and postdoctorals a state-of-the-art research environment. Most Microbiology research programs are funded by federal, state, or industrial support. The breadth and diversity of the Microbiology research community at the University of Nebraska fosters collaborations between laboratories with shared research interest, and bridges diverse disciplines. Current collaborations include UNL Centers in Energy Sciences, Plant Sciences, and Virology.
Laboratories are located in modern facilities and are well equipped. For example, some labs are in the Beadle Center for Genetics and Biomaterials. Microbiology research is underwritten by the UNL Biotechnology Core Research Facilities. These include:
- Bioinformatics
- Flow Cytometry and Cell Sorting
- Genomics
- Mass Spectrometry
- Microscopy
- Plant Transformation
- Proteomics
