2008 Microbiology Meeting

Registration and abstracts are due August 8, 2008

This meeting will cover all aspects of microbiology, including, but not limited to, the following topics:

Applied Microbiology
Microbial Physiology
Microbial Genetics and Molecular Biology
Infectious Diseases
Virology
Immunology
Microbial Diversity and Ecology
Genomics and Bioinformatics

The meeting will open with a keynote presentation by Dr. Charles Wood, Lewis Lehr/3M University Professor at the University of Nebraska and Director of the Nebraska Center for Virology.   Dr. Wood's seminar will be followed by morning and afternoon sessions consisting of short talks and poster presentations.   Talks will be limited to approximately 12 minutes principally on unpublished work. Posters will be presented during a poster session.   Presenters are expected to be at their posters during the poster session. The submission of an abstract is not required for attendance but is encouraged.   We want to learn about your research!   Abstracts must be submitted with registration forms.   Please specify your preference for a talk or a poster presentation. If necessary, the organizers will decide the suitability of each abstract for oral or poster presentation.

Registration is free, but required.   We encourage all interested undergraduate and graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, faculty, staff and industrial colleagues to participate in this meeting.   We will provide parking permits for our out-of-town participants and a map is available on the meeting web page.   This is a great opportunity to learn about microbiology in Nebraska!   We hope to see YOU at the meeting!!
